Untuk mengetahui mana ip address yang aktif dan mana yang tidak…gunakan perintah ping yang ada dalam DOS (Diskette Operating System). Coba saja masuk ke dos kemudian ketik :
ping [ip adress]
jika respondnya berupa kata kata seperti di bawah ini:
